Hunza Valley had been on my travel list for years, and finally arriving there felt almost unreal. The journey along the Karakoram Highway was an adventure in itself, with dramatic mountains, deep valleys, and rivers appearing around almost every bend.
My first few days were spent exploring the villages around Karimabad, where traditional stone houses sit beneath some of the most impressive peaks in Pakistan. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the warmth of the local people made the experience even more memorable.
One of my favorite moments was watching the sunset over the mountains. The changing colors of the peaks created a landscape that looked completely different from anything I had experienced before.
Beyond the scenery, what stayed with me most was the feeling of slowing down and experiencing the destination properly. From local food and village walks to conversations with residents, Hunza offered much more than beautiful photographs.
For anyone planning a journey through northern Pakistan, I would highly recommend allowing enough time to explore Hunza rather than simply passing through. There is something special around every corner.
