Skardu was one of those destinations that looked almost too perfect in photographs. After arriving, however, I quickly realized that the real landscape was even more impressive.
The valley is surrounded by enormous mountains, clear rivers, and spectacular natural scenery. Every journey around Skardu seemed to offer another location worth stopping for.
One of the highlights was exploring the area’s lakes and viewpoints. The combination of turquoise water, rocky mountains, and bright blue skies created incredible opportunities for photography.
But Skardu is not only about dramatic landscapes. Spending time in the surrounding communities gave us the opportunity to experience a quieter side of northern Pakistan.
We travelled through mountain roads, visited local areas, and stopped whenever something caught our attention. These spontaneous moments often became some of the best memories of the trip.
As a visual creator, I found Skardu particularly inspiring. The light changes quickly across the mountains, creating completely different moods throughout the day.
Early mornings were calm and peaceful, while sunset transformed the landscape into warm shades of gold.
Skardu is a destination where you can easily spend several days exploring without feeling that you have seen everything.
